VOCAL COACH
"As a vocalist in the industry, you don't have a boss, so you're often looking to mentors for support, and I was lucky to have the best mentors".
Sophie has been singing for over 12 years, spending a large amount of this time being mentored by Australian Country Music icons: Gina Jeffries and Max Jackson. She has carved out a successful wedding entertainment business, performing at hundreds of weddings with just her voice and her guitar, while also completing a diploma of music studies. Sophie may have begun her journey focused on Country Music and Songwriting, but her technical ability is ever present in her approach to singing, and contemporary vocal technique.
Amongst all of the above, she has also worked at "Red Frogs for Families", a support initiative for families with children in hospital. This is where Sophie was able to connect with families and children, and a realisation soon struck that combining this work with children and her love of music might be up her alley. Sophie has since found teaching and tutoring music to be a new passion, slipping into the same shoes as those mentors she was (and still is) lucky to have - and choosing to help and inspire a new generation of vocalists. Don't let Sophie's warmth and charisma fool you too much, her work ethic has an instant effect on her students, pushing them to meet the standards that she sets for herself, and to break through the same barriers that her and all vocalists face. We are overjoyed that she is part of the InnerVoice team!
